With Moonlight 2 out and Sun Gate in its final stages I’ve been in the midst of completing Masochists. Yet, as has been with my writing muse, who I haven’t quite figured out who she is yet, the idea popped into my head last night for Nibiru. (working title – Sky God, Path to Nibiru, the Splendid, High Waters)
I’ve had to learn to trust the process of my writing. I have never been able to force my writing. EVER. The idea either comes to me or it doesn’t. Which is pretty scary when you’re 160,000 words into an already published trilogy.
Then, just like that, the entire storyline for the third and final book in Bohemian Grove popped into my head. If you haven’t read Sun Gate yet, which unless you have an ARC then you probably haven’t, some of this will be a spoiler. However, based on the title – most people would have guessed by now that Carter does go to Nibiru in the third and final book.
Obviously this changes a lot of things. It completely propels the trilogy into full-fledged science fiction. YAY!
I already wrote the ending to the book and it’s epic. But, for all my awesome readers out there who’ve come to love Carter and friends as much as I do, here’s a little teaser for the final book. It’s the Prologue.
The Anunnaki appear in the Babylonian creation myth, Enuma Elish. In the late version magnifying Marduk, after the creation of mankind, Marduk divides the Anunnaki and assigns them to their proper stations, three hundred in heaven, three hundred on the earth. In gratitude, the Anunnaki, the Great Gods, built Esagila, the splendid. They raised high the head of Esagila equaling Apsu. Having built a stage-tower as high as Apsu, they set up in it an abode for Marduk, Enlil, Ea. Then they built their own shrines.
A primeval Sumero-Akkadian god who personifies the primordial abyss of sweet waters underneath the earth. He is the consort of Tiamat, the primordial abyss of salt waters of Chaos. In the later mythology of the Enuma Elish, the sweet water mingled with the bitter waters of the sea and with a third watery element, perhaps cloud, the first gods were engendered. The waters of Apsu were thought of as held immobile underground by the ‘spell’ of Ea in a death-like sleep, but it is also said that Ea had Apsu fall asleep and had killed him. From the clay of Apsu man was fashioned. In the Enuma Elish, Kingu’s blood serves this purpose. Apsu’s czar , Mummu, was imprisoned in a house built on his body.
It was on the waves of Tiamat that she rode the planes to Nibiru, leaving the splendid, a place called Earth, the place she barely had a chance to know behind. The only thing that called to her was the blood of her equal, an earth-bound named William who was currently imprisoned in a house built on his body – throwing the balance of three hundred on earth into misalignment. Her following in his tracks further threw that balance askew. To make matters worse, something that never should happen, did. A human followed both of them to Nibiru, a place that no human should ever traverse and his mission was not in kind. Jibril could never make it back to his home alive. Which was irrelevant, because that was never his intention.
She has finally arrived, they whispered.
